Zolt Laptop Charger Plus Review – Compact and Powerful

Share this:

Please note: I meant to post this review back in late January but I’ve been very busy. Sorry.

I received my Zolt Laptop Charger back on December 9th of 2015. I wanted to give it a really good testing, before writing this review. I’m happy to say that it has met and exceeded all of my expectations.

The Zolt Laptop Charger Plus is of the smallest form factor laptop chargers on the market. I don’t personally know of any other brands that are as small, or as compact. One of the issues with laptop chargers is that they all have that large “brick” piece that is clunky and hard to pack around. Along with that, the cords usually tangle and it’s just an overall mess. Not exactly convenient to travel with.

The Zolt Laptop Charger Plus is convenient to carry/travel with. It’s really amazing at how compact it is. Along with being able to charge your laptop, there are 2 more USB plugs available. Both are 2.6 amps in power, which is considered a “fast” charge for most device. You can charge your laptop, phone and tablet all at the same time from one device. Just make sure you have your cables with you. Now you don’t have to carry so many charging cubes or bricks. Just the cables and your Zolt!

So, what’s included in the box when you buy the Zolt Laptop Charger Plus?

  • 1 Zolt Laptop Charger Plus
  • 1 6 ft. PC laptop charging cable
  • 8 Interchangeable PC tips (approximately 90%+ of laptops are supported)
  • Travel Pouch
  • Quick Start Guide

Zolt also rotates up to 90 degrees, allowing you to get it plugged into almost any compact area. The includes cord also wraps around the Zolt nice and neat. The cord is proprietary, which means you can only use the cable that Zolt supplies with the top USB plug. This USB plug is specially designed and manufactured to charge laptops only.

To get specific, this USB plug is between 18 and 19.5 volts and powers between 3.3 and 3.6 amps. Use the USB ports below this USB plug for other devices such as phones, tablets, etc. Those USB plugs are 5 volts and power between 0.5 and 2.6 amp, depending on the device.

The Zolt Laptop Charge Plus has a very nice finish on it. It feels and looks very premium. The top of the Zolt lights up, when plugged into a power source. The Zolt comes in three different colours: ‘Ultra Violet’, ‘Electric Orange’ and ‘Graphite.’

Like I mentioned above, I’ve been using my Zolt since December of 2015 and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve been traveling all over (Montreal, Toronto and all over Alberta) with it and it’s always been dependable and easy to use. I now keep the “brick” charger that came with my laptop at my home office desk and carry the Zolt in my laptop bag at all times. Makes it nice when I come home, and rather than setting up down in the office I can now setup at the kitchen table or couch and have my convenient Zolt to power me up!

As mentioned before, Zolt is compatible with 90%+ of laptops on the market. Main players like HP, Asus, Samsung and many others are supported. Check Zolt’s website for compatibility with your laptop.

If you’re a Mac user you’ll need to buy your connector tips separately. Again, check the link above.

I bought my Zolt from Amazon.com and had it shipped to Calgary (Canada) with no issues. Total cost was $128.97 USD. After the exchange rate it worked out to be around $175 CAD. Still worth it for the convenience and portability, in my opinion.
