3 Tech Accessories for Mobile under $50
In this post, and future posts, I’ll go over 3 pieces of tech that I feel are your best bang for your buck right now…and under $50 (MSRP).
There are so many choices these days when it comes to picking out accessories for your mobile phone. From data/charge cables to speakers to Bluetooth controlled lights it can be a little overwhelming. There are a lot of choices. But there’s also a lot of bad choices that you could make. You don’t want to waste your money on something that is going to fall apart or stop working in 3 months. But at the same time you don’t want to have to take out a second mortgage to pay for the technology.
808 Audio Wireless Bluetooth CANZ
808 Audio CANZ provide big sound in a little package. With dimension smaller than a can of pop, it’s amazing that the sound coming from these is so clear, punchy and full of bass. All of this in a nicely anodized aluminum casing. Battery life is between 5 and 6 hours. There is a rubberized bottom to prevent slipping, and 808 even includes a separate aux-in plug if you decide to plug this speaker into a source. I’ve actually tested these with a 1982 Sony Walk-Man. Also includes is a USB to mini-USB cable for charging.
Colours available include: Black, Blue, Purple, Red and Silver.
MSRP is $44.99
PureGear FLAT sync/charge cables
Cables, cables, cables. There hasn’t been a lot of innovation in data/charge cables over the years, however PureGear has managed to make them easier to pack and manage. Make them flat! Flat cables are stronger and won’t tangle leading to shorts and damaged ends. These cables are USB 2.0 for fast synchronization and Apple certified (MFi). A nice mix of colours make these an attractive addition to your mobile.
Colours available: Black, Blue, Pink and White.
MSRP: Apple Lightning: $29.99. Micro USB: $12.99
MiPow PlayBulb Bluetooth candles
Here’s something different: Bluetooth controlled LED candles. These come from the company MiPow, and are known as PlayBulb Candles (no, they don’t play music).
PlayBulb candles are controlled, via Bluetooth, from a simple app you download (for free) for iOS and Android. You can control the colour, brightness, and effects. Different effects include: candle (lightly flicker), pulse, flashing, rainbow and rainbow fade. You can also group multiple candles together. I’ve personally controlled 8 at one time.
Each candle takes 3 double A batteries and will last for 240 hours, or 60 days at 4 hours a day.
MSRP: $29.99 each or $59.99 for a set of 3 (best value)
