Perfect for podcasts, game streaming, vocal performances, voice-overs and instruments. Cardioid mode records sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone, delivering rich, full-bodied sound.

Uses both the left and right channels to capture a wide, realistic sound image—ideal for recording acoustic guitar or choir.

Picks up sound equally from all around the mic. It’s best used in situations when you want to capture the ambience of “being there”—like recording a band’s live performance, a multi-person podcast or a conference call.

Records from both the front and rear of the microphone—good for recording a duet or a two-person interview.

New Year. New Direction.

I know it seems cliche, but with a new year comes a new direction for Zak Tech Reviews. The last time I did a review for this blog was back on September 6th, 2016. This change to Zak Tech Reviews is needed and is the next step.

When I started this blog it was to see where it would go and explore my writing and creative abilities. Over the course of 2016 I found it more and more difficult to explain and blog about tech, in written form. I’m such a visual person…always have been. I can sit down with a book and read, but to write a one page review on something…that’s difficult. Then I did some video reviews for Cesium, the company I work for. It was a simple setup with a mini tripod, bright lighting from a lamp and my notes on the side. The feedback I received was very positive and I quite enjoyed doing it. I found it easier to convey my thoughts and the review process in a video.

Behind the scenes of my first video setup.

So what does this mean? This means that Zak Tech Reviews will be posting more video content, if not all video content going forward. I’ll be setting up the YouTube page and publishing reviews there. The videos will also be posted to this page. The Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts will continue to promote Zak Tech Reviews, but ultimately direct all traffic to YouTube and or this domain.

I want to thank you all for your continued support as I take this journey. I’m looking forward to creating video content and seeing where it goes and how it evolves.

Here are a few of the videos I’ve done so far…
